Our People
Our Products are produced at a Fairtrade Factory meaning we guarantee… no forced labor, safe working conditions, fair wages, and the right to form trade unions and collectively bargain.
Our factory pays a living wage to its workers (enough to support one's self plus two children), which is aligned to local costs including food, housing, healthcare, education and an allowance for additional expenses and savings. Meals are provided to workers on site and subsidized at 75% of cost and workers have access to medical care onsite through biweekly medical camps. Workers are also paid double their hourly rate for voluntary overtime.
Our Planet
With a commitment to climate neutrality, responsible materials, and minimizing waste it is our mission to prioritize the planet over the maximization of profit.
Our products are GOTS Certified and our business is Climate Neutral Certified.
At our mill facility, 95% of water is recycled during the dyeing process and the remaining by-product is reused to produce cement.
80% of our sewing facility's energy comes from renewable resources and it is certified at the Platinum level for energy efficiency by the India Green Building Council.
Our dyeing and printing processes are certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and the GOTS standard.
Climate Neutrality
We are Climate Neutral Certified.
On an annual basis we measure and offset our brand’s carbon emissions from our entire supply chain, from factory to shipping to our team's internal footprint. As we grow we will not only be continually offsetting our emissions, but also will be continuously taking action through our reduction plans towards net zero. This will include furthering our pre-order model, packaging innovations, and finding solutions to reduce emissions from shipping.
Responsible Materials
We make GOTS cerfitied product. GOTS stands for the Global Organic Textile Standard.
GOTS certification ensures protection of workers and the environment. An "Organic" label requires that the product must contain a minimum of 95% certified organic fibres. The entire textile supply chain is certified for both environmental and social standards. Organic fibres are natural fibres grown without the use of synthetic pesticides (such as insecticides), or herbicides and GMOs (Genetic Modified Organisms).
Pesticides are made of toxic chemicals that can have harmful effects on humans' nervous systems and organs and today one third of the world's agriculture is pesticide dependent. Compared to conventional agriculture, organic agriculture is healthy for people, soils and the ecosystems in which we live.
GOTS also mandates minimum requirements for workers in the supply chain including the right to form a union and safe working conditions in line with the norms of the UN Guiding Principles and the International Labor Organization.
Dying
At our mill facility, 95% of water is recycled during the dyeing process and the remaining by-product is reused to produce cement.
The dying of textiles can often be one of the more harmful elements of manufacturing - whether by the excessive water used, the harmful byproducts dumped into community waterways, or the risks posed to workers or consumers. We use GOTS certified dyes for all of our GOTS products. GOTS certified production requires no toxic substances be used in production including azo dyes, heavy metals, formaldehyde and other dangerious chemicals. All of our dyeing and printing is also certified OEKO-TEX Standard 100 which ensures our products are free of substances harmful to human health a list of which you can find here.
